Students in a software integration class will create a historical scavenger hunt for the 7th grade history class and/or the history day club.
Cambridge Springs is a very historical town. There are still many historical buildings and sites from years past. I would like to split the software integration class into small groups of students. Each group would be assigned a specific historical site to create a cache for. The class would also create a worksheet for the 7th grade history students and/or history day club that would ask questions about the site. Inside the cache the software integration students would list facts about the site that would enable the history students to answer the questions on their worksheets.
I would also like a to have a trackable coin created for Cambridge Springs that would be put in a cache at one of our historical sites. The students could then see where their coin has traveled and possibly request that it try to be back to Cambridge Springs by a certain date. Another idea would be to have a coin made for our school and have the posts from people have a picture of them at the high school in their hometown.
Students would need to have a container to hide the cache in.
A traveling coin would need to be created or ordered.
Coordinate the sites and historical facts with the history teachers.
Create a google doc surveys for students creating and the students finding the caches to evaluate their thoughts on the project.
Collect the worksheets to see if the students acquired the information about the sites they visited.

active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress
c. customize and personalize learning activities to address students’ diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using
digital tools and resources
d. provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology
standards and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching
3. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society. Teachers:
a. demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations
b. collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success

intellectual property, and the appropriate documentation of sources
b. address the diverse needs of all learners by using learner-centered strategies and providing equitable access to appropriate digital tools
c. promote and model digital etiquette and responsible social interactions related to the use of technology and information

5. Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership
Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional
community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources. Teachers:
a. participate in local and global learning communities to explore creative applications of technology to improve student learning
b. exhibit leadership by demonstrating a vision of technology infusion, participating in shared decision making and community
building, and developing the leadership and technology skills of others
c. evaluate and reflect on current research and professional practice on a regular basis to make effective use of existing and emerging digital
tools and resources in support of student learning
d. contribute to the effectiveness, vitality, and self-renewal of the teaching profession and of their school and community
